let it burn

trusting the unknown, and finding strength in surrender

It takes immense courage to speak our truth, to listen to our hearts, and to take the road less traveled. For nearly two decades, I have been learning to trust myself more deeply—following my heart even when it made no rational sense. Along the way, I released roles I had mastered: the selfless wife and mother, the teacher, the people pleaser, the devoted daughter, the big sister, the self-sacrificing best friend—the list goes on. Needless to say, every step of this journey requires a special kind of courage—the courage to allow the dreams, stories, and false perceptions we cling to—about ourselves and others—to fall away completely. To sit in the fire, to stay present with discomfort, to be consumed by the flames, and to let it all burn—this is the threshold where even the bravest often retreat, choosing familiarity over growth. For me, the greatest act of courage is surrender—which can feel like a death, but is more often a path that strengthens our sense of self and our capacity to face difficult situations by challenging our fears. So tell me, what are you holding onto, and are you ready to let it burn?
